The firm counsels owners of contaminated property on compliance with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Site Remediation Program regulations, defends responsible parties against NJDEP administrative enforcement proceedings, and litigates private cost recovery actions and environmental insurance coverage cases.
In the renewable energy field, Kraemer Burns works with emerging and established renewable energy technology companies on entry into the New Jersey market, including identifying sources of federal and state funding for clean tech manufacturing operations. The firm has counseled public and private entities on the feasibility, development, financing, and tax aspects of photovoltaic solar energy projects, including the sale of Renewable Energy Certificates. In addition, the firm works with a variety of public entities and private companies in the area of alternative fuels and electric transportation and recently assisted the City of Newark with an application for federal Department of Transportation funding for a fleet of 50 battery electric transit buses and fast charging stations.
